Mary Miss has redefined public art since the 1970s, making environmental and social sustainability tangible, often through collaborative projects. Her site-specific work spans landscape architecture, urban design, and graphic communication, emphasizing history, ecology, and overlooked environmental aspects. “Ground Beneath Our Feet” presents large-scale photo murals and videos of the artist’s monumental land art earth works that were created in the 1970’s and 80’s, including “Field Rotation” which was commissioned by theNate in 1981 and is located here on GovState’s campus.
